The ongoing Evo Japan 2024 event has had some great fighting game moments so far, and it also makes it the best place for reveals. One such reveal, that SNK showed right after The King of Fighters 15 grand finals. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves got a new gameplay trailer that reveals Marco Rodrigues, a familiar face for anyone who has played Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
The Kyokugen Karate master used to be known as Khushnood Butt in the English version of the game, and Marco in the Japanese version. Luckily, that trend has gone by the wayside, and the character will have the same name regardless of the game’s region.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Gets Marco Rodrigues In Gameplay Trailer
Ryu Sakazaki from The King of Fighters and Marco Rodrigues are both Karate masters, which is why a lot of their moves seem similar. But Marco seems to be a hard hitter with some slower moves. Marco has not changed too much from the last game and has retained many of his special moves, other than the addition of his REV Blow, which is unique to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Along with the new character addition, a new stage was also revealed. The Yuri Sakazaki Fitness Club is where Marco goes to train. The stages in the game have a lot of background characters like Street Fighter 6.
Evo Japan 2024 was also the first chance for players to get their hands on a limited build of the game which had Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Hotaru Futaba, Tizon, and the new character Preecha, who is suspiciously familiar to Joe Higashi.
SNK has not revealed an exact release date yet for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, but has confirmed that it will be coming sometime in 2025. It is coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
