While many thought it extinct, the Whistle in the Dark weapon is still part of Fallout 76. Initially, the first iteration of Whistle in the Dark arrived as part of the Nuclear Winter update for FO76. However, it returned in the One Wasteland for All update, appearing as a reward for Daily Ops. With fantastic bonuses that improve VATS, damage at night, and other stat increases, this is one assault rifle you should have with you at all times.
How To Craft Whistle in the Dark in FO76
To get the Whistle in the Dark assault rifle in Fallout 76, you have to do many Daily Ops. While you won’t get the actual weapon as a reward, there’s a chance you’ll obtain its Plans, which is a great reward in itself. On the other hand, you might also encounter its crafting blueprints in Miranda’s inventory if you have the currency to get it. Both of these ways rely on RNG as Daily Ops will reward different things, and Miranda’s inventory rotates. However, we recommend focusing on Daily Ops for an easier chance to get this gun.
If you’re lucky enough to have the plans, here’s what you need to craft this assault rifle:
Level | Materials |
---|---|
30 | Adhesive x8 Gear x7 Legendary module x2 Oil x5 Screw (x17 Spring (x10 Steel x33 |
40 | Adhesive x9 Gear x9 Legendary module x2 Oil x6 Screw x19 Spring x13 Steel x36 |
50 | Adhesive x11 Gear x11 Legendary module x2 Oil x8 Screw x21 Spring x16 Steel x38 |
The great thing about this weapon is that it provides a bonus to all damage done at night, 50% increased VATS accuracy, and +1 Perception. While I’m not a big fan of time-related buffs, it isn’t bad if you are one of those who prefer to go on an adventure while it’s dark. Furthermore, there are certain perks that might increase this weapon’s efficiency. Ultimately, it is up to you how to use it, but we can’t deny this rifle comes in handy in any situation.
