Beau Bridges’ career has been impressive; he has earned some of the most prestigious industry awards and worked steadily as an actor for years. He is 82 years old now and still gives interviews, and his most recent chat with People really gives an insight into his life. The Fabulous Baker Boys star is a big fan of the Santa Monica Mountains, and you may be more likely to find him on one of the hiking trails than attending a glitzy Hollywood party.
Beau Bridges Talks About His Love Of Nature
Beau Bridges’ loves being outdoors and recently discussed the importance of spending time in nature. “We see a lot of wildlife. I’ve had a mountain lion run across my backyard before. So I love being so close to nature and the animals that live there,” he told the publication. In the same interview, he also noted how he accompanies his grandchildren on the hiking trails near their home, which he claims is “a stone’s throw” from the Santa Monica Mountains.
Many people cannot say they’ve witnessed mountain lions in their backyard (or that they want to), but Beau Bridges’ nature-loving ways even inspired a new career venture. He will narrate the documentary Wildlife of the Edge. The project has been inspired by wildlife photographer Robert Martinez’s work. He has captured impressive footage of the animals in the area using hidden trail cameras.
“What I’ve seen has far surpassed my expectations,” Martinez told ABC7. “Things I’ve never thought I’d get to see, and yet, I love showcasing and showing people how animals can behave when there’s no people around.”
Bridges also discussed the beauty of the wild and the importance of experiencing it. “Hopefully, watching this documentary will inspire people to get out and walk into nature and see what’s out there because we’re surrounded by so much concrete and buildings,” he told People.
Beau Bridges has managed to find a way to combine his career and his love of wildlife with his latest venture, and that’s pretty awesome.
