It’s hard to believe, but the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” kicked off about ten years ago with 2008’s Iron Man. It seemed highly unlikely at the time that a somewhat obscure superhero would launch one of the most successful sequences of movies in history, and yet here we are today. All the years of these different interwoven superhero films have been leading up to one thing: Avengers: Infinity War. This epic film promises to bring together all the heroes we’ve gotten to know over the last ten years and pit them against the Mad Titan, Thanos. To commemorate the start of filming, Marvel released a four-minute trailer that showcases some behind the scenes bits, catches the opinions of actors and directors, and tells a bit of what to expect from Avengers: Infinity War. Check it out:

Producer Kevin Feige, who is also the President of Marvel Studios, has this to say about the set up for Avengers: Infinity War: “We know they’re going to face Thanos. We’ve been setting that up since Avengers One. How do you do that in a way that is unexpected, that pits the Avengers against somebody who’s more powerful than anyone they’ve faced, and yet make them completely unprepared to face him? Well, tear them apart, which is why we did Civil War before Infinity War.”
It will be interesting to see if Avengers: Infinity War can live up to its insane hype and tell a compelling story, considering just how packed full it is set to be. Not only will it feature all these characters from previous Avengers films, but the Guardians of the Galaxy characters also join in, and surely there will be more surprises. It will be tough to see just how they can make it into one film unless it winds up being five hours long. Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to release worldwide on May 4, 2018.
