Street Fighter V continues its rollout of DLC characters on February 28th, with ice-powered newcomer Kolin joining the fray. Kolin has appeared in the story modes for both Street Fighter III and Street Fighter V, but this is the first time she has been a playable character. She is a member of the Illuminati and was granted her ice powers by Gill, the red and blue-hued boss of Street Fighter III.

His special moves involved one that forced you to throw your system across the room.

Capcom had already showcased a hype trailer for Kolin, but this most recent one features Capcom Community Manager Matt Edwards showcasing how the character plays and some of the more effective strategies to use with her. Check it out below:

Kolin is a set-up, counter, and combo-based character with a high skill ceiling. She is based on reading and mixing up the opponent, can start combos with her V-Skill, and can extend them with her V-Trigger. Her V-Skill is a lunging strike that, while unsafe on block, serves as a counter and combo starter. Her V-Trigger causes her to shoot out a blast of icicles from the ground that juggles your opponent and freezes their stun gauge, making it easier to dizzy them and unleash even more devastation.

Kolin is the second character to join the roster as part of Street Fighter V’s second competitive season, after Akuma’s release in December. There are still four more characters to be released as a part of season two, and it seems likely that we will see a new release every 2-3 months. Kolin will be playable on February 28th; stay tuned for more information on Street Fighter V as it becomes available.
