California Woman Argues Jesus Healing the Sick Was a ‘Massive Health Hazard’: ‘The Bible Doesn’t Make Any Sense’

An interesting take.

A woman in Los Angeles, California, provided a viral take on Jesus’s ability to heal the sick. She argued online that what he did posed a “massive health hazard,” which explains why he was expelled from many cities in the biblical accounts.

Dude get out of here! Honestly I’d be sick of him too

Sarah Schauer shared her thoughts on TikTok. She is an influencer and podcast host with 2.2 million followers, and she usually shares her thoughts on a variety of topics, some Bible-related. The clip in question is her most viral one in over a year, garnering 448,600 views, 94,700 likes, and more than 200 comments.

While captioning her clip, “The Bible doesn’t make any sense,” the California woman began to lay out her argument. She explained how Jesus was drawn to the sick, often ridden with “very, very infectious diseases,” including leprosy. Symptoms can vary, Sarah explained, with severe cases displaying “oozing sores and loss of fingers or toes.”

However, she emphasized how, for the Hebrews, those who suffered from leprosy were left “unfit for worship.” Deemed “unclean,” lepers were kept out of cities and isolated from the healthy. As a result, Jesus’s healing, she added, would have taken place in the cities’ outskirts.

The California woman, then, argued that those who expelled Jesus from the cities didn’t do so because they didn’t believe in his healing powers. Instead, she thinks that, after hearing or witnessing Jesus’ touching of the lepers, and how places of worship were “densely packed areas,” they were afraid to get sick as a result.

“Dude, this is a massive health hazard,” Sarah said. “You cannot just come inside the city walls after touching a lot of people with very infectious diseases.”

An Engaging Take

Sarah’s argument sparked multiple responses online. Some were surprised by how she presented her thoughts, with one viewer commenting, “This is an original take!” Another user agreed, saying, “It’s just another glaring plot hole that has never been explained.”

Other viewers were left wanting more of her takes. One viewer told Sarah, “Time to start a podcast, girl!” She responded with, “I do have one! It’s called Schauer Thoughts!” Another viewer added, “I’d pay for a bible series from you.”

With an established following, Sarah’s clip went viral due to the topic. It certainly helped that she also compared the hypothetical health hazard conversation with what happened during COVID. Since it is a fairly recent event, many felt that her argument was compelling enough to comment on it.

Given her recent content, Sarah will most likely continue to give her Biblical takes, along with the occasional poem.
