Type Soul Odachi Build Guide
Odachi is a stylish weapon to pair with some legendary eyes. This sleek blade is a Shinigami exclusive, so if you want to wield it, you’ll need to join the Soul Reapers first. Though its M1s are nothing special, its critical makes up for it. Each slash cuts black streaks in the air, and landing three consecutive hits sends your opponent flying. While the first two hits stun, the third can be escaped by a watchful opponent. Don’t let them pull an Aizen and escape your grasp. Here’s what we recommend for the build:
- Speed – 40
- Kendo – 25
- Skill Boxes – Eviscerate and Sonata Flow or Eviscerate and Ghost Cleave
- Essence – Unseen Blade or Horizon
- Shikai – Zangetsu, Blood, or Ice
Unseen Blade requires 40 Speed to use but increases the speed of your blade in turn, making it easier to land hits and build combos. Alternatively, you can prioritize Kendo over Speed if you favor that skill tree, although you’ll need to restructure other parts of the build to compensate. Learning to time your criticals is a key part of this build. The first two attacks of your three-hit combo leave you with a narrow window to land the third.
Alternate Shikai and Bankai
Although we recommend Zangetsu, Blood, and Ice, they aren’t the only viable options. The best Odachi build in Type Soul also works with Theatre and Fire. If you switch your Shikai, you may want to experiment with other Skill Boxes and skill trees as well. Type Soul has been known to reward off-meta builds if they’re played properly, and the limits of Odachi are still being tested.
