It seems Fallout won’t be the only recent post-apocalyptic show to grace our screens. Today, HBO has released the first teaser for The Last of Us season 2, featuring beloved actors Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, who return to reprise their roles as Ellie and Joel, respectively. Furthermore, we finally have a premiere window for the next episodes, as the studio aims to bring the show to the small screens in 2025. The exact month and day are uncertain, but knowing we’re one year away from seeing this duo brave more bandit and Clicker-riddled locations is reason enough to excite us.
‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Premieres in 2025
Besides the short yet juicy teaser for the second season of The Last of Us, we also got news about the new and returning cast. The ones who return are Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Besides them, there’s also new talent joining as characters we know from the video games, such as:
- Kaitlyn Dever as Abby
- Isabela Merced as Dina
- Young Mazino as Jesse
- Ariela Barer as Mel
- Tati Gabrielle as Nora
- Spencer Lord as Owen
- Danny Ramirez as Manny
- Catherine O’Hara as a guest star
Accompanied by the season 2 teaser, The Last of Us also brings back Crag Mazin and Neil Druckman as executive producers and writers. So far, it is uncertain what direction this new season will take. As previously speculated, the show might give us original stories before the events of The Last of Us: Part II. If that’s the case, it could be great to see Joel and Ellie’s relationship develop further, which is something we didn’t see a lot in the sequel. Whatever the case may be, we can’t wait for 2025 to arrive and see what new post-apocalyptic adventures await everyone’s favorite duo.
