Upset Genshin Impact Players Warn of Cheaters During Windtrace Event

Hide and cheat

The Windtrace event is back for Version 4.6, and players are thrilled to try out the changes in this beloved mini-game. Unfortunately, not everyone plans to enjoy this glorified version of Hide and Seek. Some users are eager to get the rewards quickly or, just for the sake of “beating” others, even if by nefarious means. This infuriated the fans of Genshin Impact and Windtrace so much that they started to report these kinds of cheaters on social networks.

The rules of Windtrace are simple; for the most part, it is simply a game of Hide and Seek with a few perks. In each game, you will join three more players; one of them will be the Hunter, and the rest will be the Rebels. Instead of abilities and bursts, everyone will have powers according to their role. For example, the Hunter can detect the Rebels, or the Rebels can become a distraction to mislead others. However, in this version, the Rebels must fix a machine, like in Dead by Daylight, to win. Well, one Rebel thought it was a great idea to “teleport” to distant parts of the map when the Hunter was behind him.

The Hunter of the game recorded the last moments of the event, where it is clear how this cheater did not respect the mini-game rules. In social networks, this sparked controversy among the players. Some reacted comically and mockingly towards the cheater. Others were upset because Windtrace is one of the most beloved events of Genshin Impact and one of the easiest to play without cheats. It doesn’t make much sense either, since Windtrace has limited rewards. You can only earn a certain number of points daily. It’s not like you can finish the event in one day.

Users hope that the anti-cheat protections in place will stop these cheaters. If this doesn’t work, the reports and complaints to HoYoverse will be able to stop them from ruining the experience. However, most users will continue to play Windtrace without letting anyone try to ruin their experience. It’s not always about Primogems, achievements, or materials; these events are about having a good time playing with friends or other Travelers. Hopefully, these reckless players will start playing cleanly and improve their teamwork skills.
