Diddy Escapes Unscathed In Felony Drug Case Involving Close Associate

Diddy can take a sigh of relief as his legal issues won’t be compounded any further. Amid the myriad of sexual assault and sexual trafficking allegations levied against the rapper, he got associated with a drug case. Diddy’s former assistant, Brendan Paul, was charged with two felony drug possession charges after an arrest at the Opa-Locka Airport in Miami on March 25. Now, a recent update about the case confirms that the music mogul wasn’t involved.

Diddy’s Alleged Drug Mule Avoids Jail Time

Paul entered a plea deal last month for the felony drug charge brought against him. As a result, he will avoid jail time. His lawyer, Brian Bieber, revealed that the 25-year-old “accepted the prosecutor’s offer to permit his entry into the diversion program which, after completion, the case against him will be dismissed in its entirety.” This means Paul opted to enroll in a drug diversion program for about six months. If he successfully completes the program, then the charges will be dropped. However, there might be probation or even jail time attached if he doesn’t.

A representative for the Miami-Dade State Attorney confirmed the plea deal to TMZ. The spokesperson described the judgment as “a standard offer to a non-violent defendant with no priors.” Recall that Paul was caught with suspected cocaine and marijuana-laced candy in his luggage. The marijuana charge was, however, dropped. Diddy was present at the time of the arrest, which happened while the feds raided his L.A. and Miami homes.

It also didn’t help that Rodney’ Lil Rod’ Jones referred to Paul as Diddy’s “drug mule” in a $30 million lawsuit filed against the rapper whose real name is Sean Combs. Per Daily Mail, Jones claimed that he witnessed Paul “acquire and distribute” drugs to Combs and his team.

Diddy Stirs Fans With Cryptic Post About ‘Truth’

It seems the Bad Boys Records founder predicted being exonerated. Earlier this week, Diddy shared a cryptic post on Instagram. He uploaded a photo of the quote “time tells truth” written against a paper background. Diddy captioned the image, “Love” with a black heart emoji. 

As expected, fans bombarded the comments section, sharing their interpretations of his post. Many slammed the rapper, accusing him of trying to play innocent. “You’re definitely gonna serve some time, I can tell you that,” declared one fan. Another wrote, “You’re definitely gonna serve some time, I can tell you that.” A third fan alleged, “Bro, you settled your lawsuit with Cassie in less than 24 hours. Just stop it and lay it to rest.” 

With this new victory, Diddy might at least feel like the truth is on his side.
