It has been over 25 years since Shania Twain released hits like That Don’t Impress Me Much and You’re Still The One, and when she recently took to Instagram to share a bunch of photos of her performing on stage. But the reaction was mixed. Some fans have praised her for being gorgeous and talented, and others have called for the return of the old Shania to come back.
The singer captioned the photos with, “The energy in @bakkttheaterlv was electric. Thank you for coming out and selling out another show!! And a special thank you to my new friend Joseph who joined me onstage for a little duet. His T-shirt said It’s a Shania thing you wouldn’t understand. Love it!” She looked stylish and youthful, and the show appeared to be one that she put a lot of work into. Still, that did not stop the negative feedback and many people compared her to Beyoncé.
“Beyoncé is that you,” one fan asked, seemingly suggesting that Twain has changed so much she is now unrecognizable. “Who else thought this was Beyoncé,” another wrote. One particularly mean comment stood out. It referred to the Man! I feel Like A Woman! singer’s age. “It really is time to hang your hat up, Shania. You were so great once. We have to embrace our age,” they wrote. “I’m 50, and I’m not going back to trying to be 25.”
