A new Mortal Kombat X trailer has been released by NetherRealm Studios and it shows off some of the brutalities enjoyed by the Briggs family. The trailer – which you can see below -shows off some of the moves employed by Jackson (Jax) and his daughter Jacqueline, as well as showing off their signature fatalities.
If you want to skip straight to the gory bits (well, goriest bits), then skip straight to the 28 second mark to see Jax rip out his opponents ribs and stab him right in the head. It’s a scene that’s sure to give even the most hardcore Mortal Kombat fans a few chills running down their spines.
NetherRealm Studios have released a slew of new trailers and information ahead of Mortal Kombat X’s release later on this month, including the release of a Shaolin trailer earlier last month. The trailer itself shows off The Shaolin Clan, including Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kung Jin in all of their brutal beauty.
Earlier this week, NetherRealm Studios also released a trailer showing off one of the new, special edition Kombatants; Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, who is billed as one of the “iconic guest characters” for the Kombat Pack, similar to how A Nightmare On Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger featured in Mortal Kombat 9. However, Jason will only be made available to those who purchase the Kombat Pack for an extra $29.99 on top of the standard games price.
Mortal Kombat X is set to be released to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 14. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 fans will have to wait another while, however, as the game has been delayed on both of those platforms for unknown reasons, and will instead be released on June 30. Speaking about the delay when it was first announced, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said:
“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14.”
