The Monarch of Shadows wouldn’t be the same without his Shadow Soldiers. Sung Jinwoo commands a variety of combatants, each bringing something unique to the battlefield. Whether by increasing your crit rate or buffing your attacks, having the right Shadow in Netmarble‘s dungeon-crawling gacha game can make completing Gates and other challenges far easier. Compose the wrong team, and you’ll make Jinwoo wish he’d remained the World’s Weakest Hunter instead of stepping into the spotlight. Here are the best Shadow Soldiers in Solo Leveling: Arise.

Solo Leveling Arise Shadow Tier List

If you’ve spent much time with Yoonho, Joohee, and the rest of the team, you know how important having the right comp is. Pick the wrong squad to bring with you into the field, and it’s easy for even the best-equipped heroes to collapse. Different loadouts and strategies can make a difference in which Shadow Soldier performs best, but some pros and cons should never be ignored. With that in mind, here’s our Shadow Soldier tier list for Solo Leveling: Arise.

  • S Tier – Igris
  • A Tier – Blades
  • A Tier – Iron
  • B Tier – Tank

Shadow’s Authority: Increases all team membersโ€™ Defense by 6%

Having the best stats for Jinwoo and the others is only half the battle. You need to bring the right Shadow Soldier for the job, and unfortunately, that usually isn’t Tank. This mohawked bear-beast is almost as cute as it is threatening, but it doesn’t pull its weight compared to other Shadows. Buffing Defense is useful, it simply isn’t quite as good as buffing Max HP, making it hard to justify taking Tank over Iron for your tanking needs.

Shadow’s Authority: Increases all team membersโ€™ Max HP by 6%

When your Shadow’s Authority power focuses on defense, it’s hard to be one of the best Shadow Soldiers in Solo Leveling: Arise. That’s because this gacha game’s fast-paced combat tends to encourage landing hits more than blocking them. Still, a health buff can make the difference in close fights. While 6% isn’t incredible, it’s enough to warrant taking Iron’s hefty shield over Tank’s grizzly endurance.

Blades

Shadow’s Authority: Increases all team membersโ€™ Attack by 3%

Yes, Blades looks like a ghostly elf with Saiyan hair. That’s not what earned this Shadow Soldier the second spot on our Solo Leveling tier list. A 3% Attack buff sounds meager, but in practice, it means plenty of extra damage in long fights. Whether you’re wearing down a boss or trying to rush through a series of Gate encounters, cutting down your enemies just a bit quicker is arguably better for your survivability than an actual shield. Thanks, Blades.

Igris

Shadow’s Authority: Increases all team membersโ€™ Critical Hit Rate by 4%

Builds revolving around Critical Hits (such as Demonic Plum Flower Sword) have been meta for a reason. When the game is at its best, Solo Leveling: Arise turns the best Shadow Soldiers into an indispensable part of your strategy. Igris buffs your Critical Hit Rate by 4%, and although that’s not much on its own, that 4% snowballs incredibly well when paired with Demonic Plum and other Crit-focused items. The Monarch of Shadows looks kingly indeed when cleaving through monsters in a single blow, and Igris is the Shadow to make that happen.

Solo Leveling: Arise is available for PC and Mobile.
