Despite its initial release being way behind us, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Today, CD Projekt RED finally launched its REDkit update alongside Steam Workshop support for The Witcher 3. You might think this isn’t something to get too excited about, but au contraire: the developer has essentially allowed players to tweak the game as they see fit. With the possibility of creating new quests, animations, cutscenes, and more, this is the perfect time to ride Roach into the sunset as one of gaming’s most beloved monster hunters.

REDkit, Steam Workshop, and More Are Part of The Witcher 3’s New Update

By now, many gamers should know that the modding community of The Witcher 3 is one of the best out there. And it shouldn’t come as a surprise. The game made a huge splash when it launched. Players worldwide wanted to stay in these monster-riddled lands to live new adventures. With that in mind, talented modders created new ways for us to enjoy this GOTY winner. But now, the modding landscape will grow even larger due to the addition of the REDkit official mod tool.

For the unaware, REDkit is a free modding suite that allows you to do whatever you want in The Witcher 3. For modders, you’re basically getting the tools the developers at the studio used to create the game, so you can let your imagination and creativity run wild. But if you’re a player, you don’t need to delve into a “Modding 101” class. All you have to do is visit your favorite modding site and start downloading any of the best creations for The Witcher 3. To make this easier, this update also added Steam Workshop support. The latter makes modding much more seamless, especially for those who don’t like jumping from one platform to another.

While Steam Workshop only works on Valve’s platform, GOG and Epic Games members can also get REDkit from the official website. Undoubtedly, this is huge for PC players who want to start a subsequent playthrough. Sadly, console players won’t enjoy the power of modding that much. Still, remember that the complete edition integrated some fan-favorite mods to the console version, so you still have a few new tidbits you can find while venturing these war-torn lands.
