The music icon had all eyes on her when she went at it with a security guard on the red carpet. Rowland looked visibly upset during the interaction, which has now gone viral. Rowland attended the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. She was there for the premiere of the French-Italian film Marcello Mio. The singer, always one to turn heads with her looks, didn’t disappoint at the festival. Rowland stunned in a strapless red gown with ruche detail at the bust that flows into a glorious train. She paired the gorgeous ensemble with pointy silver heels and a bedazzled clutch purse. Her accessories for the event included a diamond choker necklace, matching stacked bracelets, and a statement ring.
In a video from the event, the Motivation songstress was seen smiling at the crowd while walking up the red carpet stairs. However, her mood changed when a seemingly overzealous female security guard came into her space, stretching her arms to lead Rowland away from onlookers. The entertainer was evidently pissed about the interaction. She waved her finger angrily at the guard while speaking strongly. The guard spoke back which infuriated Rowland even more, but another staffer soon de-escalated the altercation.
This is the second squabble Beyoncé’s BFF has gotten into this year. Back in February, Rowland made headlines after she reportedly stormed off the set of the Today show. Per Page Six, Rowland walked away because of issues with her assigned dressing room.

As expected, fans got wind of the interaction and shared their opinions online. Many defended Rowland’s outburst, saying she must have had a good reason to lash out. “Yo@KellyRowland, do we need to pull up? No child of destiny, past, present, or future, will ever be disrespected,” declared one fan. Another wrote, “This is an accurate way Cannes security treats folks, especially if you’re Black and Kelly Rowland responded the RIGHT way to the disrespect.”
A third fan expressed, “I love that a white man had to come put Le Karen in her place for her to listen.” Others tried to guess what Rowland might have said to the guard. One fan guessed:
“She said ‘don’t talk to me like that, DON’T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT. You are not my mother, don’t talk to me like that again!”
