Prince Harry has become a magnet for attention, portraying himself as the perpetual victim in the royal drama. The Duke of Sussex took a brief trip to the UK this month to celebrate the Invictus Games Organization’s 10th anniversary as the founder. However, his failure to reunite with his dad over the visit overshadowed the otherwise beautiful significance of his trip. Further blowing up the drama, Prince Harry’s rep released a statement claiming King Charles, who is dealing with health concerns, was too busy to see his son during the UK visit. Royal commentators believe the statement in itself was insulting to the monarchy.
Royal broadcaster Helena Chard has weighed in on Prince Harry’s approach to the UK visit, deeming it an intentional act to stir trouble while playing the victim. The commentator condemned the prince’s decision to reject the lodgings his dad provided in the palace due to security concerns as reported by The Telegraph. Instead, Harry opted to lodge at a private London Hotel, leaving the palace feeling “blindsided.”
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Helena noted that staying at St. James Palace, only a stone’s throw away from Clarence House where the monarch resides was a better choice in every sense. Not only did it offer better security, Prince Harry would definitely have better chances of seeing King Charles no matter how busy he got, ultimately diffusing the royal drama. The royal broadcaster described the prince’s behavior as suggestive of a deeper-rooted problem, saying,
“It worries me that Prince Harry has deeper-rooted problems, most likely related to his mother, as I feel his behaviour is beyond strange. I am, however, aware that his behavior keeps the victim narrative alive, a narrative which maybe he feels serves a purpose at this time.”
Harry’s Behavior Is Very Hurtful to King Charles
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward also had something to say about Prince Harry’s strange behavior on his UK visit, which blew up the royal drama. According to her, the King never expected his son to release the statement claiming they could not reunite because of his busy schedule. Hence, when the statement finally emerged, the monarch felt hurt. Ingrid pointed out that regardless of King Charles’ busy program, a meeting “might have been arranged” if they stayed under the same roof given his delicate health situation.
The royal biographer went on to describe Harry as “troublesome,” noting that the king knew it too. The palace also understood the Prince’s penchant for blaming everything else but himself and snubbing every attempt to help him. She added,
“Harry’s unpredictable behaviour is hurtful to his father. Even if he were too busy to see Harry – and that is quite possible – to issue an announcement to this effect is unnecessary and benefits no one. This is especially the case when his father is still undergoing cancer treatment and could well be very tired and emotionally fragile.”
King Charles’ fragile health amid cancer battle was further tested when Prince Harry undertook a tour of Nigeria in the company of his wife right after his UK visit. Royal commentators report that the visit left the king very furious, as the Sussexes paraded themselves in the African country exuding all the elements of royalty.
