General Hospital actor Michael Easton has played Hamilton Finn for the past eight years. Although fans have a love/hate relationship with the character, he’s one of the show’s leading men. Recently, Finn’s going through a difficult time following his father Gregory Chase’s death. His sobriety has also been tested after he accidentally drunk champagne at Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding. Things aren’t looking good for the doctor, and speculation is that he could be leaving Port Charles soon.
General Hospital Hints at More Tragedy for Finn
Gregory’s death has hit Finn hard, and he’s trying to be strong for his daughter Violet. However, when alone, the doctor indulges in a drink. His relapse has caused concern for his girlfriend Elizabeth Webber. Not only is she worried about his well-being, but also Violet’s. Wanting to help, Elizabeth suggested taking Violet until Finn sorted out his issues, but this made him angry.
Between his grief and his drinking, Finn is headed for a downward spiral on General Hospital. According to PeepsTune, rumors are that Michael Easton and his character could be saying goodbye to the ABC soap opera.
Although Easton and the show haven’t commented on his status, it hasn’t stopped fan speculation.
The General Hospital writers are hinting that more tragedy will strike Finn. On the May 23rd episode, Violet admitted to Brook Lynn that she was scared something would happen to her dad. Brook Lynn assured her everything would be fine, but trouble seemed to be on the horizon.
Finn’s drinking will get out of control, and despite his family’s efforts to help, he’ll push them away. Since he’s acting irrationally, he might do something he’ll regret or could cause harm to others. He could get behind the wheel after having too many drinks and end up in a crash. The results could cause Finn to slip into a coma or face legal ramifications, including jail time.
The crash could also be Finn’s wake up call, especially if Violet happens to be in the car with him. If something happens to Violet because of his foolish decisions, he’ll never forgive himself. Realizing he needs help, he’ll leave Violet with Elizabeth while he goes away to rehab.
Finn’s storyline could go in many directions, but one thing’s certain: His problems are just beginning. Whether this means he’s leaving remains to be seen. But with the number of shocking casting departures this year, fans better enjoy him while they can.
