Lenny Kravitz is spilling the tea about his desires in his next romantic relationship. Last month, the singer shocked the world with news of his inactive love life. Kravitz confessed he had been celibate for almost a decade and didn’t even casually date anyone. However, with the recent milestone of his 60th birthday, the Let Love Rule artist is ready to switch things up romantically.
In a new interview, the New York native revealed he remains hopeful about finding true love and settling down. “I love love. I love relationships, I love that whole dynamic, and it’s been something that’s been challenging for me.” Kravitz, whose last major relationship was his marriage to Lisa Bonet, noted that he hasn’t been able to enjoy a “full commitment” since their union lasted from 1987 to 1993. But now, he wants that to change.
“It’s been quite a while, and it’s something I really fantasize about, long for in reality. I feel like I’m at a place where I truly believe that I’m ready.”

However, despite Kravitz’s eagerness to find Mrs. Right, he shared his worry about finding the right person at the right time. “Timing is so important — you can meet the right person at the wrong time, you know?” he explained to OK Magazine. “You can meet the wrong person at the right time. You could do all kinds of things, you know? It really takes the two of them, and so, I’m open and patiently waiting. And I know that it’s, I know that it’s coming.”
Kravitz added he is in the best place in his life “mentally, physically, and spiritually.”
Lenny Kravitz Still Has Some Red Flags To Deal With
While The Hunger Games star waits for love, he admits that getting into a relationship after such a long time can pose some problems. “I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live,” he previously shared. Nevertheless, he is ready to do the work if it is worth it.
As for why he chose to abstain from sexual activities and dating, Kravitz described his decision as “spiritual.” He credited his parent’s toxic marriage as the inspiration behind the big change. The Rock ‘n’ Roll icon recalled overhearing his father talking to his mistress as a child and confronting the patriarch. Sadly, the conversation ended with Kravitz’s dad telling him he would tow the same path.
Kravitz acknowledged that his father’s prophecy came to pass after his marriage to Bonet ended. “He became right. After the marriage, I became more like him. I was becoming a player,” he shamefully admitted. “I didn’t want to be that guy. So I had to tackle that, and it took years.”
