Nitrome released a teaser for their upcoming steam greenlight game titled Bomb Chicken earlier this week. It’s as bizarre as it sounds, as players will control a chicken capable of laying bombs, not eggs.
Use these bombs to take out enemies, as well as to platform around each level, stacking bomb on top of the bomb to reach otherwise unattainable heights. The platformer’s style is reminiscent of a flash game from the mid-2000’s, and there’s a reason for that.

If the name Nitrome sounds familiar, it probably because you spent your high school computer lab days wasting away playing their web browser games on sites like Miniclip and Addictinggames. The site is filled with games like A Kitty Dream, Platform Panic, and Bad Ice Cream, allowing you to save progress in most, a unique feature for a browser game.
The site also has a mobile games section, fill with a ridiculous amount of 8-bit games similar to the browser games.
Nitrome.com launched on April 5, 2005, and hasn’t received an update since July 19, 2013, but the site is still fully operational. The sites last blog post was in 2016, so the news that they are not only still making games but are making a steam game is certainly a welcome surprise.
The exact premise and plot behind Bomb Chicken is simple and quirky. As a chicken, you’ll be tasked with discovering the darkest kept secret of the fast food giant known as BFC and their best selling, addictive blue hot sauce.
More importantly, the game will answer the crucial question. Which came first the chicken or the bomb?
As of now, Bomb Chicken does not have a release date but will be on Steam Greenlight upon its debut. But be sure to check back to the site for updates, as well as our official review when it does release.
