Undoubtedly, some of the games that have the hardest time keeping their audience around are MMOs. Having content drought is unavoidable for these games. Thankfully, when a few are stale, there’s always another MMO everyone can jump into. After certain New World players left for other shores, Amazon Games announced New World: Aeternum during Summer Game Fest, which is the perfect excuse to return to these lands full of magic and danger. Plus, you can now do it on your favorite console and even enjoy some solo-focused activities if that’s your cup of tea.

New World: Aeternum is the ultimate way to play this MMO. Previously, only PC players were able to enjoy this vast open world. However, on October 15, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S adventurers can join the expedition, too. But that’s not all. New World: Aeternum is overhauling many aspects of the game. According to the official announcement, new and returning players can enjoy a revamped storytelling approach, pre-rendered scenes, a large-scale PvP zone, a new 10-player raid, and solo-focused endgame trials.

Frankly, I’m excited about the solo-focused part. I love being part of an evolving world and watching players jumping around, gathering materials, and trading. However, I also like some me-time, and this approach is great. Still, that doesn’t mean those who like partying with others are forgotten. New World will feature its first large-scale PvP zone and a 10-player raid. The latter intrigues me because, say what you want, the PvE aspect has improved considerably. So, taking 10 players into one instance tickles my curiosity.

Hopefully, taking New World to consoles will bring more players back to this intricate world. Out of all MMOs out there, I have to give credit where it’s due: New World is quite addictive. It has that Runescape-ish feel to it in many of its activities, and the fact that it has no boundaries in its world makes exploring a hoot. So, let’s hope this new update revives these lands and brings more adventurers to this shores ripe for the picking.
