Janelle Brown and her family continue to keep the memory of the late Garrison Brown alive. Members of the Sister Wives family — primarily the adult kids — have found a special way to commemorate their late brother.
Sharing photos from a night out with her son Gabe and daughter Savanah, Janelle was asked about a tattoo that seemed new on Gabe’s forearm.
“Is that Gabe’s arm with the to the stars tattoo? What a lovely tribute to Garrison ❤️,” the commenter wrote. Janelle liked the comment and provided more context.
The Tattoos Are Based On Garrison’s Favorite Quote
Many of the kids got a tattoo with some version of that quote. It was one of Garrisons favorite movies growing up and even as an adult 😀
Janelle explained that not all the siblings who have gotten tattoos in honor of Garrison have identical, matching tattoos. The quote, “to the stars,” is from the book-turned-film series Dragonheart.
A photo from Christine Brown’s Instagram shows Paedon Brown also sporting a new tattoo — a constellation of stars on his forearm.
It’s not clear who else got the tattoo or how they chose to interpret the quote, but it’s a very sweet way to honor the individual relationships between siblings, as well as the connection they share as a group.
Janelle Brown has had a difficult year since Garrison’s death at 25. On Mother’s Day, she opened up about where she’s at with her grief. She admitted the holiday was “surprisingly emotional” after her year.
It just never has been a big holiday for me. My children have always shown up for me and made me feel special everyday. Especially since they became independent adults and weren’t home all the time. But this year was different
All weekend I felt the grief so close to the surface. And it was especially poignant when I made this simple pie. Our strawberry picking excursion combined with the fact that I randomly found rhubarb at the local farmers market made it feel like this pie was destined.

The bereaved mom admits that the pie is a “huge favorite” among the family, adding, “maybe no one loved it more than Garrison. And that made this pie a little bitter sweet.”
Grief is hard to navigate, and it certainly isn’t linear. Each member of the Brown family is undoubtedly handling it in their own way. It will be interesting to see more of this in the upcoming season of Sister Wives, though there’s been no news on where they are in production.
