The third season of Telltale Games’ highly regardedย The Walking Deadย franchise is about to hit its midpoint and as suchย A New Frontierย episode 3 has a new trailer to whet gamer’s appetites. ย Perhaps the analogy would be as much as a walker’s insatiable thirst for human flesh? Poor analogies aside those who have not played episodes 1 and 2 of A New Frontierย which were released together at the tail end of 2016 it is not recommended to watch the trailer as it contains considerable spoilers.
The NerdStash gave the first two episodes of A New Frontierย a score of 4 out of 5 stars citing “The writing and direction are very tight, the voice acting is on point, and the decisions the player has to make feel impactful and important. It is good to see the Clementine you created in past seasons fleshed out and making decisions, and the new characters are, thus far, much stronger than what the second season brought us. There are a few slow sections, and one character is extremely annoying, but it feels like the third season ofย The Walking Dead is headed in the right direction.”
The third episode of A New Frontierย is titled Above The Lawย and sees a new conflict for Javier as he must weigh the interests of his new group of misfit survivors against that of his brother whom he thought dead. Does he trust the worldly and wise Clementine or his own flesh and blood when decisions come down to brass tacks? What exactly are the New Frontier and how are Clem connected with them and Javier’s brother David? Will Kate side with her husband whom she thought was dead or with her budding romantic partner Javier? ย The questions are endless about where the story will go although many are sure to be answered when Episode 3 drops March 28, 2017, on PS4,
