Danny Masterson is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence. The former That 70s Show star was shockingly convicted of sexual assault crimes. During his trial, his wife, Bijou Phillips, was by his side. She supported him as he continued to proclaim his innocence. The actor’s famous friends, such as Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, also supported him during that time. However, after he was convicted and sentenced, it was clear that his marriage was in jeopardy. Not long after the sentencing, Phillips filed for divorce.
The divorce has been going through the proper channels since that time. However, Bijou Phillips now has a very good reason to want to rush the dissolution of her marriage to Danny Masterson. The actress has started up a new romance with Alessandra Ambrosio’s former fiance, Jamie Mazur. Now, she wants to finalize the divorce as quickly as possible, per In Touch Weekly.
Bijou Phillips Is Ready To Move on From Danny Masterson Marriage
New court documents reveal that Phillips has turned over new information about finances to Masterson’s team. She’s reportedly provided info about her expenses, income, debt, and assets to ensure a swift end of the marriage.
“This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter,” Phillips’ lawyer said in a statement after the original divorce filing.
Bijou Phillips is also asking to drop Danny Masterson‘s last name, as well as spousal support. She’s also petitioned for sole legal and physical custody of the couple’s 9-year-old daughter. However, she did claim that she was fine with Masterson having visitation with their child. The actor later agreed that Phillips should have sole custody of their daughter and asked for visitation while in prison.
Danny Masterson may never step foot outside of prison again. He appears to understand that ending his marriage to Bijou Phillips will help his estranged wife move on with her own life. Meanwhile, she hasn’t opened up about the split or Masterson’s conviction.
