Prince William and his younger brother Prince Harry have been feuding for years. Princess Diana and King Charles’ two sons have broken the hearts of many royal family enthusiasts due to the bad blood between them. While it’s said that an array of issues have come between the two brothers, one major issue that allegedly kicked off their rift was William’s concerns about Harry moving too quickly into marriage with Meghan Markle.
Bond says Prince William allowed his wife, Kate Middleton, to ease into royal life. She was fully aware of what she was getting into. However, Prince Harry may not have given Meghan Markle the same luxury, per Mint.
“Kate was given ten years to peer into the goldfish bowl of royal life. I think it was brilliant she saw all the restrictions and glare of publicity it brings. Because their courtship was so long, she was able to judge that she could hack it – and William could see that too.” Bond told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show.
“This is why William was correct to guide or warn Harry ‘Are you sure you’re not going a bit fast in this relationship with Meghan?’ It affronted Harry to be questioned like that but I think it came from a good place,” she added.
Bond went on to reveal that if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had stayed in the royal family they would have been a great asset to the firm. However, now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are living in the United States and their ties with the royals are all but severed, it’s unlikely they’ll ever return to the UK. Even when Prince William ascends to the throne, there will likely be a sad absence of his younger brother.
“He was brilliant for the royal family. He did bring a natural common touch and reliability,” Jennie Bond said of Harry.
Fans are still holding out hope that Prince William and Prince Harry will someday be able to make amends. However, for now, it seems that things are still frosty between them.
