Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift have been trending on social media over the last few hours. Unfortunately, the rock icon has been trending for the wrong reasons after getting on Taylor Swift fans’ bad side. The drama began on Saturday when Grohl seemingly took a shot at Swift and her Eras tour during a Foo Fighters concert in London. During his performance, the singer took a break to mention that Swift’s Eras tour was happening nearby at Wembley Stadium, London. His revelation led to some boos from the audience. However, this prompted Grohl to respond, “I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
The 55-year-old then seemingly mocked Swift’s Eras tour saying, “So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f***ing errors as well. Just a couple.” Grohl continued with the mockery, implying that the Cruel Summer crooner doesn’t perform live. “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the f***ing right place,” he said. Following the apparent mockery, Taylor Swift fans didn’t take Grohl’s remarks about their favorite lightly. Many of Taylor Swift’s fans took to social media to roast the guitarist.
“Wow, Grohl so washed up he has to use Taylor’s name for free pr. Embarrassing thought he was better than that what a shame,” one fan wrote on X. “This is pure jealousy and it’s more embarrassing coming from some veteran,” a second person shared. A third tweep remarked, “This was so unnecessary and beneath him. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Dave Grohl but this is just cheap and intentionally provocative.”
The Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift drama didn’t end without the pop star responding to Grohl’s remarks. During her London concert, she took a dig at Grohl by thanking her band. She noted that they would be playing live for three and a half hours that night. Swift also said her band and her performers deserved the praise.
