Welcome to Plathville star Kim Plath has taken a surprising turn by filing for divorce from her estranged husband, Barry Plath, after a two-year separation. Her unexpected move has left everyone in shock. Kim’s determination to get what she wants from Barry in this divorce shocks fans.
Kim Plath hit her soon-ex Barry Plath with a sneaky gut punch. On June 26, the TLC reality star officially filed for divorce in Georgia. Welcome to Plathville. Viewers may recall that Barry and Kim’s split was a real blow for him. Barry claims Kim completely blindsided him when she told him in 2022 that she wanted a divorce.
However, per the divorce petition obtained by Starcasm, Kim wants much more than just a divorce and has gone after Barry hard. When Kim walked out on Barry two years ago, it did not take her long before she was with someone new. Since then, Kim Plath has reportedly lived with her boyfriend, Ken Palmer, in Florida.
Barry Plath Has A Fight On His Hands With Kim Plath
The former couple married in 1997 and share nine children, three of whom are minors. Kim seeks full custody of daughters Amber Plath (age 15), Cassia Plath (age 13), and Mercy Plath (age 11). This is a bit of a shock to Welcome to Plathville fans, considering that the minor children have primarily resided full-time with Barry Plath.
Kim Plath is also going after Barry for child support and legal fees. The Welcome to Plathville mom also asks for “equitable division” of assets and debts, but the initial complaint doesn’t include any specifics.
So far, Barry Plath has yet to file his response. However, fans of the TLC reality series believe Kim is in for a surprise if she expects Barry to roll over and give in to her demands. After all, Kim initiated the divorce in 2022 because the marriage between the parties was “irretrievably broken.”
Kim Plath also believes she has an ace in the hole and will play it if Barry Plath challenges the dissolution. Kim seemingly suggests that she has specific reasons for the divorce that she doesn’t want to reveal. However, she will have no problem going there if needed.
