Hawk Tauh Girl got her name because of her reaction: “You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang! You get me?” What she said was shared on Tim and Dee TV‘s TikTok account, and it went viral. Why? Because it was equal parts hilarious and risqué, and it has become meme-worthy.
Just about everyone wants to know more about the Tennessee native and how her life has changed since she became mega-famous. There have been reports that she was fired from her job, and there are rumors that she is launching a podcast or a reality TV show. Her Instagram page, which appears to either have been created by her or, in her honor, is racking up views.
Fans React To Hawk Tuah Girl’s New Picture
The real person behind the meme has been identified as Hailey Welch. Her Instagram account (although not verified) already has over 1 million followers. It also features photos of her, and the most recent collection includes pictures of her enjoying life. This includes a meeting with NBA legend Shaq and a photo of her petting a horse.
The post was captioned with the simple message, “Just been living lately.” She’s taking full advantage of the fame that came with the viral video, and reactions to the post have been overwhelmingly positive.
“She’s a national treasure you guys,” one fan wrote. “Southern girls are beautiful,” another shared. Other comments on the post include, “You’re proof that 15 seconds can change your life. I’m happy that you’re doing positive things with the outcome! Blessed,” and

Not everyone has been impressed with Welch but she definitely has fans who are quick to defend her. “Hate her or love her half of y’all would be too cooked to do anything significant with the level of attention she’s got,” a fan wrote.
