Travis Barker and his reality star wife, Kourtney Kardashian, welcomed their baby boy, Rocky, back in November of 2023. Since then, the Blink-182 drummer has been extremely protective over his new son. It seems as though Barker has some pretty strict rules regarding Rocky. Recently, when Kris Jenner asked Kourtney if she would be joining the family trip to Aspen, Travis was not very happy with the idea of her and Rocky flying without him.
According to Hello Magazine, it is very likely that Barker’s worries originally stemmed from Kourtney herself. Like most mothers, Kourtney was worried about “rejoining society” after giving birth. Everything can be dangerous to a newborn. Perhaps that worry rubbed off on Travis a little.
Travis Barker Is Very Protective Over Kourtney Kardashian and Their Baby
“Travis is protective over the baby, so even when we walk down the street, he says to bring security because there are loose dogs and coyotes and there are mountain lions,” Kourtney told Kris, who agreed that she wouldn’t walk around without security if she had a baby. He feels the same way about me getting on a plane without him for the first flight,” Kourtney added.
However, Travis Barker did survive a deadly plane crash back in 2008 that saw his security guard and both pilots lose their lives. This could be another reason as to why he wants to be with his family if they get on a plane. Barker did not walk away unharmed, though. The drummer was in the hospital for 11 weeks and went through 27 different surgeries.
13 years later, the musician would get on a plane with Kourtney Kardashian for the first time after the incident. Travis recalls the PTSD he suffered for a long time after the crash.
Travis Barker has his reasons for being so overprotective of his family. Kourtney Kardashian will just have to learn to live with this, as Travis seems very adamant about his rules. Maybe later on down the road, he will be able to lighten up a little bit.
