Shannen Doherty allegedly suffered immense maltreatment at the hands of her ex-husband. Before her painful demise, the actress was embroiled in a bitter divorce with Kurt Iswarienko, all while dealing with cancer. Now, a close friend is speaking up about how Iswarienko’s indecent behavior worsened Doherty’s ailing health.
In a lengthy LinkedIn post, Tara Furiani, a close friend of the late actress, pointed accusing fingers at the photographer. “I’m really sad and upset about my friend Shannen’s death…Because of the divorce she was going through at the time,” she began. The business consultant explained that the BH90210 star knew she would lose the battle against cancer. However, she wasn’t able to make peace with her mortality because of the emotional pain her ex-husband inflicted.
“Her pain and suffering in the months preceding it didn’t have to be so profound if her husband was just a decent human being. Could have just displayed a little humanity to his dying wife.”

Shannen Doherty Cut Ties With Ex-husband Before Death
Despite Doherty and Iswarienko’s troubles, the actress made a major move to close that chapter of her life. According to People Magazine, just a day before her death, The House on the Prairie alum filed a motion to finalize her divorce. She reportedly signed a filing to waive spousal support on July 12. She also agreed to a “default or uncontested dissolution” of their marriage. He signed the papers on July 13, the day she died.
Iswarienko and Doherty walked down the aisle in October 2011 but after 11 years of marriage, she filed for divorce in April 2023. At the time, the actress described divorce as “the last thing she wanted.“
