Kylie Jenner recently took to Instagram, where she has 399 million followers, to post stunning pictures of her in a backless black dress. She stands in front of a window and looks into the camera. She hinted at her location with the caption, writing, “when in Italy.”
There is nothing wrong with these pictures, right? She looks great, and she didn’t make any controversial comments in the caption. So, we have to ask was she anticipating negative backlash by limiting the comments on the post? When you check out the comment section of Jenner’s post there is a message stating, “Comments on this post have been limited.”
The reactions that we can see include messages of praise. “Obsessed,” a fan wrote. “Kylie makes you melt with this look,” another shared. Other comments include, “Goddess as a work of art,” “Mother is mothering!,” and “beauty.”
Fans of Jenner will know that she is no stranger to criticism, and when she posts things on social media, there are often negative comments. These comments have proven to get to her before, and on an episode of The Kardashians, which aired in June, she broke down when thinking about the mean things people have said about her appearance.
Kylie Jenner Is No Stranger To Negativity
“It’s a miracle that I still have confidence and I could still look in the mirror and think that I’m pretty,” she told her sister Kendall Jenner in the episode. Later, in a confessional, she discussed how the comments can become too much. “I hear nasty things about myself all the time,” she said. “I think it’s just after 10 years of hearing about it, 10 plus years, it just gets exhausting.”
“I’ve never cried about this before, but I guess it does affect me,” she admits.
Yes, Kylie Jenner lives her life in the public eye, and she has since she was a child. But that doesn’t give people the right to criticize her, does it?!
