Actress Katie Holmes alarmed her fans after she was recently spotted in New York City taking a casual stroll wearing a black tee, white pants, and a ball cap pulled down low while seemingly attempting to hide a serious-looking black eye.
Fans were immediately concerned and wondered what had happened to Katie, leaving her with such a nasty bruise. According to The Sun, Katie Holmes has yet to respond to the questions regarding her injury.
The Dawson’s Creek star has been busy over the summer and is often seen in NYC. She prepares to become an empty nester as her daughter, Suri Cruise, will soon leave home to attend college. Suri is the 18-year-old daughter of Holmes and her ex-husband Tom Cruise and will go home this fall to attend Carnegie Mellon University, a private research university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Katie Holmes Introduces New Companion
As Katie Holmes comes to terms with Suri’s upcoming departure, the 45-year-old single mom has found a new companion with whom to share her life. Katie recently took to Instagram to introduce her new fur baby.
Katie posted a photo revealing a new, beautiful gray and white long-haired cat named Eleanor. She shared that Eleanor has been a source of comfort and joy during this transitional period. The addition will surely keep Katie Holmes company as she adjusts to Suri’s absence.
She also reportedly has many upcoming projects she is working on that will help pass the time. Katie Holmes is currently focused on Broadway, directing very personal projects. Over the past few years, Holmes has focused on moviemaking and getting more stage experience. Holmes will likely be making plenty of trips to Pennsylvania to visit Suri. Katie and Suri have an extremely close relationship.
During a 2014 interview with The Today Show, Katie stated, “The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and that her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It’s really just about her, and that’s what I think is most important.” That is one thing that is not about to change anytime soon.
Katie Holmes’s black eye details will likely remain her secret unless she speaks out about the events leading up to her injury. However, since Katie is very private, she has slim odds of speaking out.
