Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue their search for a U.K. home but have run into a problem that might put their house hunt on hold indefinitely — security concerns. Since they are no longer official royalty, the Sussexes have had their personal security downgraded, but Harry has appealed against this High Court ruling. While the couple hopes the appeal goes through “before the end of July” so they can start their search proper, “the court process seems to be taking its time.”
“The time it’s taking is rather unfortunate,” a source tells Daily Express. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex “planned on looking for a part-time home near Windsor this year and hoped that the appeals process would be heard” soon. However, the court denied his request to be given special treatment as King Charles’ son to “jump the queue.”
Members of the Subreddit r/SaintMeghanMarkle clamor in agreement about how Prince Harry “wants the [security] perks of being a blood Prince, which Charles gave him, but only acknowledges being Diana’s son.” A user comments, “To Harry, that’s all the King is good for.” After all, “he sure doesn’t mind being KC’s son when it comes to trying to grub off royal privilege.”
Before her passing, the late Queen Elizabeth said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s safety was of “paramount importance,” per People. However, it’s important to recall that “grifter” Harry is facing the wrath of both his older brother William, who’s sworn to protect the royal fold from the traitor, and his father Charles, a king known to become enraged over underwear not being folded properly.
While the Sussexes doubtless do have a fanbase, many are not too fond of the royal rogues. And with “there being still a big question mark over security,” it’s hard to see whether Harry and Meghan will ever be able to find their cozy dream home near Windsor.
