Mortal Kombat 1 Invasions Season 7 is here, and a variant of Shang Tsung, known as The Soul Eater has become the ultimate threat to all timelines. However, this titan also falls at the hand of the Fire God and his warriors, teasing a future foe at the end. As it turns out, our next opponent to fight in Mortal Kombat 1 Invasions Season 8 is none other than Liu Kang. Here’s how.

Upon completing every season of Invasions in MK1, you’ll be well rewarded with a cutscene that clarifies the fate of Earthrealm after defeating the opposing enemy. But just right after, we receive a teaser for what’s to come in the next season with a mysterious reveal of some of the target kombatant’s powers.

This is what is shown by the end of Invasions Season 7, and you can hear the sound of a dragon in the background. Dragon = Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat universe. But if that’s not proof enough for you, take a look at the second reveal of Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1 Invasions Season 8 below.

After the dragon’s roar and dance of yellow and red fire, a blue flame is flashed to our eyes. Two fires, two arms = Liu Kang once more. We’ve seen The Chosen One turning against his friends and bonding with forces of darkness in many iterations of Mortal Kombat timelines, but what would drive Liu mad this time?

It could be that Liu Kang is once more done with Raiden’s guidance, and tries to kill him, turning the Shaolin warrior into an evil flame master. But whatever the case, we know that we’ll beat this one too just like all others we’ve fought so far in 7 seasons of Invasions.
