Prince William and Kate Middleton understand the pain of watching one’s kids get hurt. The Prince and Princess of Wales have shown solidarity with parents and loved ones of kids who fell victim to a mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift dance party in Southport on Monday. The incident, which left at least two kids dead and more injured left Southport, and all of Merseyside in shock.
Hours after the incident, Prince William and Kate Middleton took to social media to sympathize with victims and their families. In the brief statement shared on their official Instagram account, the Prince and Princess of Wales acknowledged the pain and suffering the kids’ parents must be facing in the aftermath of such a brutal attack. It read,
“As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through. We send our love, thoughts, and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack.”
Via the statement, Kate Middleton and Prince Williams also penned words of appreciation to the emergency responders, who showed “compassion and professionalism” throughout the rescue operation. Sadly, the Southport mass stabbing at the Taylor Swift dance party left fatal victims in its wake. So far, three kids, aged 6, 7, and 9, have died from the attack, per BBC. At least five other kids and two adults who sustained severe stab injuries remain hospitalized. Initial reports claimed two little girls, 6 and 7 died in the carnage, with six other children fighting for their lives. However, one of the six hospitalized kids eventually succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday morning, raising the number of fatal victims to 3.
One Kid Arrested in Southport Mass Stabbing
The devastating incident unfolded on Monday at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party in Southport, North Merseyside, UK. The dance party at The Hart Space had about 25 kids between the ages of six and eleven in attendance. The suspect, a 17-year-old kid, born in Cardiff reportedly pulled up in a taxi and entered the venue, wearing a hoodie. He began attacking the kids, with some adults trying to protect the children. Amid the carnage, several kids ran out of the nursery, with multiple stab wounds, attracting the attention of eyewitnesses.
The attacker was eventually apprehended, and taken into police custody. First responders transported the injured victims to local hospitals for treatment. Like Prince William and Kate Middleton, many Merseyside residents have sympathized with the victims and their loved ones, wishing them the strength and courage to deal with the heartwrenching aftermath of the ferocious attack.
