Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reacted to the devastating mass stabbing that left three children dead in Southport, UK. On Monday, all hell broke loose when a 17-year-old knifeman pulled up at the Hart Space, where about 25 kids were taking part in a Taylor Swift-themed dance party and yoga event. The attacker, born in Cardiff, brutally stabbed several kids at the event, leaving some dead and at least five children still fighting for their lives at three local hospitals in Southport. Two adults also sustained critical injuries while trying to protect the kids at the dance workshop.
Following the incident, many have extended love, support, and well wishes to the victims’ families via various platforms. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, while yet to release a public statement addressing the stabbing, sympathize with the victims and their families. Speaking to a news outlet, one insider shared the reaction of the Sussexes upon hearing the news of the UK nursery school carnage. According to the source, the news of the Southport stabbing left Harry and Meghan devastated and in pain. The insider claimed,
“Harry and Meghan are devastated and in great pain over the tragic incident in the UK.”
Going further, the source claimed the Sussexes “seem to be in great shock,” and sympathized with the families and loved ones of the victims, including the three kids, aged 6, 7, and 9, who lost their lives.
Prince Harry Deems UK Dangerous For Meghan Markle and His Kids
The Southport stabbing incident comes barely one week after Prince Harry expressed safety concerns about bringing his wife Meghan Markle and their two kids to the UK. Voicing his fears in an ITV documentary titled Tabloids on Trial, the Duke of Sussex said,
“It’s still dangerous. All it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read. Whether it’s a knife or acid, these are things that are of genuine concern for me.”
Harry further admitted these lurking dangers were part of the reasons he refrained from bringing his wife back to the UK with him. When the estranged royal’s ITV interview first aired on July 25, he came off as simply being paranoid, and overblowing the gravity of the situation. However, the latest attack on innocent kids in Southport in Merseyside, England proves a lone actor armed with the slightest motivation could indeed do so much irreversible harm.
While investigations have yet to unveil the motive behind the teenager’s attack on the Southport kids at the Taylor Swift dance party, it does somewhat validate Prince Harry and Meghan’s fear of returning to the UK without adequate security privileges.
