Yellowstone is set to end, and without Kevin Costner, there are some worries regarding the final part’s viewership. However, the series may have just found its saving grace in Lainey Wilson. This beloved series helped jumpstart Wilson’s career by using many of her songs in some episodes. Now, it seems like Wilson is ready to return the favor by giving the show the sendoff the producers would most likely want.
It has been reported that “a lot has changed” since Laniey Wilson first appeared in Yellowstone Season 4. Wilson has busted out of obscurity and has become a chart-topping country artist. Just last year, the singer took home the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year award.
Is Lainey Wilson the New Face of Yellowstone?
“Producers feared not having Kevin aboard for the second half of season 5 would be a turnoff for viewers,” an industry insider exclusively tells Life & Style Magazine. “But they know Lainey is going to bring her millions of fans with her! They got a lot more than they bargained for when they signed an obscure singer, seeing how she’s now a global star!”
The series seems to be really banking on Wilson’s fans coming over to enjoy the show. While this could be a brilliant idea, things could also backfire pretty quickly. Kevin Costner was originally the big name that would draw a lot of attention. Is Wilson famous enough to bring in that kind of viewership?
Costner’s role was one of great significance to the story as he was the owner of the Yellowstone ranch. Lainey Wilson’s character was more of a side or background character that randomly appeared. However, that was before she was a famous singer.
With Lainey Wilson’s newfound fame, Yellowstone writers may make her a more prominent character. It would not be a huge shock if Wilson’s character became a show regular for the series’ final episodes.
