Shape Memory Alloy is one of many important materials in The First Descendant, which you need for crafting weapons and Descendants. However, you cannot farm them through defeating enemies and bosses or from mission rewards. Instead, you have to collect them by running around a specific map.

Shape Memory Alloy crafting materials can only be found in Resource Boxes and Munitions all over Hagios. Do keep in mind though, that you can get more drops by opening the latter than the former. A Munition can give you 112 Alloys, while a Resource Box only gives 26, for example.

To optimize your Shape Memory Alloy farming in The First Descendant, consider using our recommended routes below. These routes work for both Normal and Hard difficulties. Opening boxes in Hagios also allows you to obtain Carbon Crystal material as well.

Unlike Vesper’s Hardener, from our experience, boxes in Hagios are sparse. Still, they should spawn fast enough letting you open them as you make laps. Here, you can find a Code Analyzer and a Surveillance Tower near the one north of Void Fragment and east of the Ally Retreat Route.

It’s safe to say that this is the best place to farm Shape Memory Alloy in The First Descendant. Considering there are Munitions and Resource Boxes clumped close to each other not far from the Outpost.

There’s a Tower north of the Outpost spawn and a Precision Code Analyzer on top of a house close to the gate to Fractured Monolith. Another Surveillance Tower is just south of Broadband Fleet Beacon mission close to the cliff’s edge.

You can skip the last Munition in the middle of the map and just focus on the four near spawn. But, there are two Surveillance Towers near the Munition under the bridge, if you’re looking for them.

Nearby the Resource Box southwest of the map — west of Void Fragment — you can find a Surveillance Tower. Another Tower can be found near the Munitions close to the Ruins Modification Base.

Meanwhile, this is arguably the worst area to farm Shape Memory Alloy in The First Descendant. There aren’t many Munitions and Resource Boxes and the floating platforms make it a terrible terrain for going fast.
