Among all the bosses in Once Human, Arachsiam, or the aptly called Spider Lady of Mirage Monolith is among the hardest, especially once you get to the Level 50 or Level 60 variant. Even in Normal mode, she can still be the bane of your existence. Worry not, because I’ll give you some tips on how to kill that bug and progress by completing the Mirage Monolith in Once Human.
Mirage Monolith Preparation
Arachsiam and Mirage Monolith are both part of the main quest in Once Human. While the recommendation says to fight her at Level 30, you’d do well to over-level here. Going well past 30 or even 35 is a sure way to have a comfortable fight with her because that also typically ensures you’re ready and are better-armed.
For your equipment, prepare the following against Arachsiam and Mirage Monolith. This works for Normal, Hard, and even Pro mode.
- At least 3,000 ammo for your main weapon.
- A Sniper Rifle (for shooting faraway eggs).
- A Festering Gel as your Deviation.
- Molotovs
- Gear, tools, or food that grant Movement Speed.
- Take the Rapid Healing cradle perk.
- A highly-calibrated weapon (the highest tier you can craft).
- Armor that gives lots of HP.
Fighting and beating Arachsiam solo is also one of the Season Goals in a PvE server, so you might want to bring in as many Activators (healing potions) as you can if you’re committing to this Season Goal.
Once you have the following gear ready, it’s time to solo Arachsiam with the following tips in mind below.
How to Beat Arachsiam Solo
Normal mode is easy enough, you can even queue up in a public team or squad to speed up the boss fight. But Hard mode and solo is where this boss fight gets serious.
During her poison mist and egg-hunting phase, Hard mode and Pro mode will add in a debilitating poison debuff that will kill you in less than 10 seconds. Thus, pick the Festering Gel over other damage-focused Deviations. Reserve it for when Arachsiam enters her poison mist phase.
Additionally, take note that no matter how high your DPS is, you can’t burst down Arachsiam before she enters her boss phases. She’ll just become immune in her poison mist phase at around 2/3 of her HP. Here’s what you need to do once she enters her poison mist phase:
- Run around the edges of the arena in circles, look for red lighting hues, and shoot them.
- Ignore or outrun the spiderlings (or throw Molotovs at them).
- If your Activator is on cooldown, use the Festering Gel.
- Spider eggs typically spawn in three locations around the arena.
Once you shoot down all the eggs, Arachsiam will become vulnerable again, though she might enter her poison mist phase again at 1/3 of her HP. So get ready to repeat the egg-hunting maneuver.
