Many times, we feel that the first free legendary character of any gacha game is not worth having around. Well, Maitha is clearly an exception in Sword of Convallaria because, with the right build, she can become one of the best tanks in the game. As a defender, Maitha is in charge of taking hits for the team, keeping enemies at bay, and even providing a bit of healing should the need arise. Since every player will get Maitha during the first hours, we’ve prepared a build for her so she can be your tank in as many stages as possible.
Best Skills
Maitha won’t bring a lot of DPS to the table or mobility, but with the right build, she’ll be an unkillable tank in Sword of Convallaria. Furthermore, she’s one of the few characters you’ll obtain for free, and not only that. Certain content will give you duplicates of her, allowing you to enhance her passive skill even further. So, without further ado, here are the best skills for Maitha.
Skill | Description |
---|---|
Guard (Rank 1) | Takes Physical Attacks for all other allies within two miles near Maitha. When triggered, DEF increases by 20%. This skill activates once per round. |
Come on, everybody! (Rank 3) | Maitha restores 20% HP and grants ATK I and P.DEF I buffs to all allies within three miles of Maitha. She takes Physical Attacks for allies two tiles near her for two turns. |
Endurance Activation (Rank 5) | When receiving healing, Maitha gains DMG Reduction II buff for two turns. |
Battle Flag of Convallaria (Rank 7) | For all “Sword of Convallaria (Faction)” units in battle, increases Maitha’s ATK by 10% and DEF by 20%. |
Armor-Piercing Strike (Rank 9) | Deals 100% Physical DMG and inflicts the P.DEF I and M.DEF I debuff on the target for two turns. |
Maitha’s Combo (Rank 11) | Maitha deals 20% DMG once and 50% DMG three times, and she knocks the enemy back by two tiles. |
When picking the skills for Maitha’s build in Sword of Convallaria, we focused on defense over damage. However, that doesn’t mean Maitha can’t kill a few enemies as well. The important thing about this character is that she always needs to be near others to trigger her Guard ability. She’ll be taking hits for the team, so pair her with a healer; Inanna is great for her. We decided to add Maitha’s Combo at the end to increase her DPS capabilities and give her a pushback skill. Yet, if you feel Maitha is a bit squishy in your team, swap her Rank 11 skill to give her more survivability.
Weapon & Gear
Maitha’s build uses most of the free stuff you get by playing Sword of Convallaria, which is great as you don’t have to spend a lot of resources on her. Also, Maitha is easy to build in terms of gear, so if you want to try a different combination, go ahead.
Weapon/Gear | Description |
---|---|
Newborn Blade | Increases HP by 5%. Grants bonus to the wielder’s P.ATK equal to 3% HP at the start of the battle. |
Fancy Hat | Gains Immunity to Disrupt. When Healthy (full HP), increase M.DEF by 3%. |
Silence of the Hermit | Decreases DMG taken by 10%. |
Newborn Blade is a fantastic weapon that’ll buff Maitha’s Physical ATK proportional to her HP. Since we’re picking skills that also increase her HP, the buff will be massive. We picked Fancy Hat due to the lack of innate Magic Defense, but you can swap it for any other that has an active skill. Lastly, Silence of the Hermit is the true tarot whisper for tanks and a must-have for Maitha.
If you have a good healer already who can sustain Maitha, you can swap most of the skills we recommended for more DPS-oriented ones. However, if you don’t have Inanna or any other Epic healer, it is better to make build Maitha in the tankiest possible way.
