Sister Wives fans have eagerly awaited what the new season of the TLC series will bring. So much has changed since where we left off with the extended Brown family. Not only have three of Kody’s four marriages fallen apart, but the family has also endured another painful hardship together — the loss of Garrison Brown.
Since Garrison’s shocking death by suicide at the age of 25, there’s been a lot of sadness. There’s also been a lot of attempts for the family to honor him by relishing in life and one another. Less than a year since the tragedy, it’s obviously been a focal point in their collective lives.
While fans have admittedly been nervous about how TLC will handle the sensitive subject matter, they were surprised to see it wasn’t mentioned in the trailer. It’s brought into question the timeline, which appears to go back before Christine and David’s wedding to share more of their journey.
People are wondering what it was like for the family, who had left off on such contentious terms, to come together in that moment of tragedy. That said, they are hopeful that Janelle was given control over how things play out publicly.

Some have considered that due to the nature of Garrison’s death, it may not have been a fit for the first trailer about the season. With over a month until it premieres, some think it will be covered in another teaser to come.

Longtime Sister Wives fans have felt the family and production both struggle with handling tense moments well. That said, they are hopeful Garrison’s story will be handled with the sensitivity it deserves. They also hope the children who are still willing to film will be protected in that process.
