Julie Bowen has found a forever family in Sofia Vergara, regardless of what the rumors say. It has been four years since the pair said goodbye to filming Modern Family. However, that hasn’t stopped the media from pitting the on-screen in-laws against each other. Bowen, tired of the drama, is telling the truth about her relationship with Vergara.
During an appearance on Jennie Garth’s podcast, I Choose Me, Bowen admitted to feeling pressure to hate Vergara while they were filming the ABC sitcom. “They were just determined to pit us against each other like we hated each other,” she explained. “It’s this scarcity mindset that there’s only one woman who can be happy at a time.” However, despite the usual Hollywood tale of female co-lead stars hating each other, Bowen rejected it.
And I was like, ‘Oh no. I love Sofia, and I love how different we are.’ And I love — she is funny and self-effacing and bawdy, and she loves life, and she loves dancing and eating cake and all these things.”
The Happy Gilmore actress said the press tried to make her and Vergara some “sort of Betty and Veronica.” She further compared the imaginary feud to that of Garth and the late Shannen Doherty while on Beverly Hills, 90210.
“I know they did that with you and Shannen. I mean, I remember it. don’t understand why society doesn’t have room.”
Julie Bowen Alleged Of Being Envious Of Sofia Vergara
Bowen’s revelation comes after rumors surfaced that the co-stars were only pretending to be friendly in the spotlight. A source told Life & Style that the Claire Pritchett actress only says good things about Vergara in public. However, the reverse is the case in private. The alleged reason for the feud is Bowen’s envy towards her co-star’s success post-Modern Family.
