Path of Exile fans may finally rest easy: Path of Exile 2 has been announced alongside the fact that players will be able to sign up for its early access. Better yet, the trailer further confirms that the sequel will be a completely standalone title. Some players would compare the gameplay style of Path of Exile to that of Blizzard’s Diablo franchise, though the most significant difference is that the former is free-to-play.
Originally announced in 2019, Path of Exile 2 spent a lot of time in development while developer. In that time, Grinding Gear Games continued patching and updating the first installment. Enemies look to be more terrifying and awesome than ever before. Even arenas and battles are being improved on what I already considered perfect from the previous game. While not officially revealed, we can assume that popular modes like Hardcore and Solo Self Found will be available to enjoy.
The previous installment ends with Innocence and Sin joining forces to destroy Kitava with you. I didn’t think that the game needed anything more on top of that. However, I’m excited to see what more the story will offer. It’s also exciting to imagine what more will become available concerning the jump between the first and second game. I hope it will be as big of a difference as Diablo III and Diablo IV!
The trailer ends with an acknowledgment of the Path of Exile 2 early access beginning on November 15. However, there wasn’t any information on how players can sign up for notifications about it now. The announcement also revealed that Path of Exile 2 is available to wishlist for the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
