GOTY 2025 Contender Monster Hunter Wilds’ New Trailer Shows off the Series’ Best Feature With a Glimpse of Some Delicious Palico Grilled Meat

Railgun dragons and flower spiders, what else do you need?

A railgun dragon and a spider with a rose on its back weren’t on my bingo card for the newest Monster Hunter Wilds trailer. Luckily, that shows that Capcom is bringing the big guns for this installment. After Rise and the always-popular World, we were eager to learn more about the next big monster-hunting adventure, which looks like it is right around the corner, thanks to the latest trailer. Even if the release date is set for 2025, Capcom makes it look like all monsters are ready to leave the oven.

Monster Hunter Wilds: 3rd Trailer | Lala Barina & Scarlet Forest Reveal

During Gamescom 2024 ONL, Capcom unveiled its third and newest trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds. Before I go into a deep-dive into the cooking system, my favorite feature, we have to address the spider and dragon in the room. Yes, these two new monsters coming to the franchise are as jaw-dropping as they are scary. The rose spider (patent pending) is the one that surprised me the most. Not only is its arena extremely eerie, but the fight looks like it’ll annoy me at acceptable Monster Hunter levels. However, the second monster pulled a Jill Valentine and manifested a railgun, which already looked like it would be a shocking encounter for many of us.

And yet, the one thing I loved, a series staple, is the good old cooking. That sizzling meat is one of the best I’ve seen since the 4K-cooking of Dragon’s Dogma 2. I hope there is the usual Palico-cooking sequence in a town or city, but if not, I’m glad we’ll be able to cook alongside our Palicoes in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter Wilds Is Breaking Boundaries With Multiplatform Release

Even if the release date is still some months away, the game looks almost ready to ship, or at least that’s what I’m hoping for. With a long road ahead of us, it’s certain this won’t be the last trailer we’ll see for Monster Hunter Wilds. Hopefully, the next one will include a proper release date because I can’t wait to pick up my gigantic sword to slice and dice my way through this new world.
