Prince Harry‘s feud with the royal family keeps thriving despite his imminent birthday inheritance thanks to security arrangements. The Duke of Sussex’s 40th birthday milestone has been long-anticipated, not just by him, but by several royal watchers as he is set to inherit millions of dollars. Per the reports, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s mom, also named Queen Elizabeth, set up about £19 million for her great-grandkids back in 1994.
At 40, they get to inherit the lump sum, splitting the trust between them. While Prince William is already 42, Harry would become entitled to his own portion of the inheritance come September 15. Although the terms of the arrangements remain uncertain, especially with Prince Harry’s ongoing feud with the royal family, the Duke of Sussex has benefitted from this trust fund in the past.
Prince Harry Places Security Over Family Inheritance
The brothers reportedly split £6 million of the trust on their 21st birthday, with Prince Harry getting the bigger half of the sum. The Guardian attributed this disparity in the sharing factor to the Queen Mother’s way of compensating Harry as the second son since Prince William would someday become king and inherit the family’s fortune. Yet, even his imminent inheritance is not enough motivation to cement Prince Harry’s rift with his family.
The 39-year-old, engulfed in his legal battle to restore his police security in the UK believes only then could they find common grounds. Speaking to The Sunday Times, a friend of Prince Harry claimed he was willing to drop the rift with his family only if they agreed to reinstate his security. According to the source, “it’s swords down” once the condition is met. Going further, the insider admitted the estranged royal desired more than anything else to rekindle his bond with his dad.
