Travis and Jason Kelce soar to new heights with a new mega deal with Amazon’s Wondery, becoming the latest financial milestone since “encroaching” Taylor Swift’s world. While he has reveled in his basketball fame for years, the Kansas City Chiefs player’s streak of good fortune took off in full force during his Taylor Swift era.
Aside from gaining global popularity, Travis has also scored a handful of onscreen deals. These include a gameshow hosting gig on Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity and a role on the series, Grotesquerie. He is also set to begin his stint on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.
Travis and Jason Kelce Sign Podcast Deal With Wondery
The athlete is about to get even richer with his new mega deal with Wondery worth over $100 million. Variety announced on Tuesday that Travis Kelce and his brother in gloves Jason Kelce signed a three-year contract with the Amazon-owned podcast network, for ad sales and global distribution rights on their joint podcast, New Heights.
The deal takes effect on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. It would offer the platform rights to all past, present, and future videos and audio linked to New Heights. According to Variety, Wondery’s deal with New Heights also secured them exclusive rights to monetize the said audio and video content, and even create “international audio adaptations of the podcast.”
Jason and Travis Kelce have since confirmed the deal in a joint statement, expressing hopes that their newfound collaboration with Wondery would lead them to new heights. The statement read,
“We love this show, and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will offer a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights!”
The $100 million deal is just one of many monetary benefits Travis, and Jason Kelce have reaped this past year. Taylor Swift fans seem to have an idea of the magic wand behind Travis Kelce’s recent successes. This success streak has widely been attributed to the Taylor Swift effect, with Swifties daring to label the athlete as “riding on her tail coats.” It’s been a smooth ride so far though.
