Gypsy Rose Blanchard is currently facing backlash on social media over her TikTok bio. In her description, the mother-to-be labeled herself an “Influencer, Author, and Public Figure.” While all three are technically true, not everyone approves.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard TikTok Bio Sparks Confusion
Blanchard gained fame for her involvement in her mother Dee Dee’s murder in June 2015. After being abused by her for years, Blanchard and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, orchestrated a plan to kill Dee Dee. Godejohn ended up stabbing Dee Dee to death and was sentenced to life without parole for her murder. Meanwhile, Blanchard received a 10-year sentence with eligibility for parole. After serving seven years behind bars, Blanchard was released from prison early in December 2023.
Since then, she has done several interviews and television appearances discussing her life with Dee Dee and her time in prison. Blanchard has also kept busy by releasing a book and docuseries. On top of that, Blanchard has received a lot of media attention in recent months due to her relationships with Ryan Anderson and Ken Urker.
Considering Blanchard has been in the spotlight a lot these days, it seems she wants to make a new name for herself by being seen as an “Influencer, Author, and Public Figure.” However, not everyone approves of Blanchard’s description of herself.
In a viral video, a TikToker criticized Blanchard over her bio. “Plz tell me why I’m just now seeing what Gypsy’s tik tok bio says,” they wrote. “It honestly cringes me out so much.”
Some people agreed. “No cuz ‘public figure’ is wild,” one comment read. “Gypsy is so delulu,” another person wrote.
However, others defended Blanchard. “Don’t forget that all y’all up in her business is exactly why she is in fact a public figure,” one person pointed out. “She’s got 20m followers, so she’s an influencer. I don’t understand why that’s a problem?” another person commented.
Blanchard hasn’t publicly reacted to the criticism.
