Angelina Jolie wants to leave the United States and move some 8,000 miles away. The Marie actress claims there is just one thing or person keeping her stuck in Los Angeles. That person is none other than her ex, Brad Pitt.
Angelina blames the Fight Club star for many things, but most recently, she claims he is the biggest reason she has not already fled the country. Jolie rarely speaks publicly about her private life or about her children. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, she touched briefly on both during a recent interview.
The actress spills to THR that she is unhappy living in Los Angeles. Despite growing up in Hollywood as the daughter of former celebrity couple Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, Angie has spent most of her life here.
However, she states, “Sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.” But she went on to say that she remains in the city for one very big reason. “I have to be here from a divorce.”
Brad Pitt Takes The Fall For Angelina Jolie’s Unhappy Life
As most Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fans know, the exes formerly known as Brangelina are engaged in a brutal and nasty ongoing divorce and custody settlement. The battle, which began in 2016, has profoundly impacted Angelina’s life. Despite each being declared officially single, the legal war between the two continues moving forward.
Angelina states, “I’m a very deeply feeling and kind of a raw nerve.” She also admits she desires privacy, a luxury she seemingly lacks in LA. Jolie feels that she will pack up and leave the country once her youngest children, 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, turn 18.
“I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia,” which is where she adopted son Maddox from in 2002. Additionally, “I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world,” she added.
Angelina Jolie declines to discuss specifics about settling her divorce from Brad Pitt. However, per People, a source close to Brad, stated that it’s shocking that they “can’t find a resolution and finalize the divorce.”
The ongoing battle seems to revolve around custody, finances, and a separate lawsuit regarding the French winery Chateau Mirival. It has been a brutal 8-year fight that seemingly has no end in sight. “Hopefully, they can both get on the same page to at least resolve the matrimonial side of things while the Miraval case plays out.”
