Beyonce is giving fans a rare glimpse into her intimate family life. Despite being one of the biggest musical artists of all time, Queen B has managed to keep her personal life super private. She rarely gives interviews, and many of her public appearances are quite low-key. However, the Single Ladies songstress stepped out of her comfort zone to open up about her biggest achievement — her children.

During an interview with GQ Magazine for their October 2024 issue, she discussed what it was like allowing her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, to join her on her 2023 RENAISSANCE Tour. “Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage,” the proud mother gushed. “Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously, and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes.” While the 12-year-old is still the only one of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s children who has ventured into Hollywood, it won’t be surprising for the singer if her twins hop on board.

“My kids come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me. They are in dance rehearsals. It’s natural that they would learn my choreography.”

However, while that might seem like the normal progression of things, it won’t necessarily be an easy process. “Raising three kids isn’t easy. The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives,” she confessed to the magazine. “My twins are God-sent. Parenting constantly teaches you about yourself. It takes a lot of prayer and patience. I love it. It’s grounding and fulfilling.”

Although it is fast becoming the norm for celebrities to teach their kids the ropes of Hollywood, Beyonce takes a different approach to parenting Blue, Rumi, and Sir. The 43-year-old admitted that she has “worked extremely hard” to give her children “as much normalcy and privacy” by ensuring her “personal life isn’t turned into a brand.”

“I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace.”

However, Beyonce’s “normalcy” approach hasn’t stopped her kids from being stars in their own right. Back in April, Blue joined her mom as part of the voice cast of The Lion King prequel Mufasa: The Lion King. The teenager voices Kiara, daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala. Months later, in July, Blue also snagged the YoungStars Award at the 2024 BET Awards. Stardom definitely runs in the blood.
