Sean Diddy Combs finds himself in dire straits as former bandmate Dawn Richard drags him to court in another sexual abuse lawsuit. The rap mogul became embroiled in a sex trafficking scandal earlier this year, leading the Feds to raid several of his houses. As the drama unfolded, several alleged past victims with connections to the artist came forward, with accounts confirming the sexual abuse allegations that got him in the Feds’ raiders to begin with. Diddy’s ex-girlfriend and singer Cassie is perhaps the most high-profile accuser, due to leaked hotel footage from years back that captured him getting physically abusive despite his initial denial.
Amid the neverending sea of victims, another former acquaintance has come forward with her “Diddy survivor’s” story, accusing him of terrorizing, belittling, and sexually abusing her per TMZ. Dawn Richard, a former bandmate of Sean Diddy Comb filed a new lawsuit against him this week, alleging sexual abuse, brutality, and manipulation. In the court papers, the ex-Danity Kane member recounted her disturbing encounters with the disgraced musician from the first time she crossed paths with him as a participant on his MTV show, Making the Band in 2004.
Dawn Richard claimed Diddy manipulated her into believing he would advance her music career if she gave in to his “twisted demands.” She cited instances of the rapper hauling derogatory words at contestants during on-set auditions. The former aspiring singer once recalled seeing Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Kim Porter leaving the studio in tears. While the incident made her realize Diddy was capable of violence, her firsthand experience with Cassie a year later confirmed it.
Diddy Allegedly Threatened Dawn Richard Into Silence Amid Cassie’s Abuse
Per the lawsuit, Dawn Richard witnessed Diddy’s first meeting with Cassie sometime in 2006. She recalled the rapper “invading her space,” in a predatory fashion. Three years later, she witnessed a bone-chilling moment where Diddy, high on drugs got physical with Cassie, throwing her against a wall and even choking her. Dawn claimed the icon even dragged his then-girlfriend up the staircase of his LA mansion as she bore witness to the brutality. On one occasion, he allegedly hauled a hot pan of eggs at Cassie, screaming,
“I’ve been asking you for my s**t; I can’t stand you b**ch, you never do it right!”
Dawn and her Bandmates’ attempt to support Cassie only stirred Diddy’s ire their way. Per the lawsuit, Diddy threatened to ruin the career of Dawn and bandmate Kalenna Harper or make them “go missing” if they kept meddling in his relationship with Cassie. Eventually, the former Danity Kane member became the Bad Boy CEO’s next victim. She recalled being forced to rehearse for 48 hours without sleep, leading to weight loss, and dehydration among other health factors.
The abusive treatment prevailed between 2009 and 2011. Some of her more terrorizing encounters with Diddy include him barging into her dressing room while she was unclad, and touching her inappropriately. He allegedly locked her in a tinted car in another instance, necessitating rescue efforts from her dad. During these moments, he used her career as leverage to get away with his “belittling” and “brutal” actions.
Dawn Richard’s lawsuit is the latest of the many legal woes put forward about Diddy amid his sexual abuse scandal. Earlier this week, the musician received a $100 million default judgment in the lawsuit filed against him by Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, an inmate at the Earnest C Brooks correctional facility accusing him of sexual assault. Federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York also received a subpoena to further investigate Diddy’s hotel visits with ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy. With his latest legal miseries coming in swift succession, things are about to turn even uglier for the disgraced star.
