Tom Cruise ended his marriage with Katie Holmes in 2012. Since that time, his relationship with their daughter, Suri Cruise, has been a hot topic of conversation. The Top Gun star has reportedly not seen his now 18-year-old daughter in over a decade. However, he is paying for her to go to college at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, he could have ulterior motives for forking over the cash for her college tuition.
According to the September 23 edition of Heat World, Tom Cruise is hoping to reconcile with Suri Cruise. Although, things look bleak as Suir recently stopped using her famous father’s last name and is now going by Suri Noelle, which is her mother Katie Holmes‘ middle name.

Meanwhile, Tom’s not letting that get him down. He’s reportedly playing the long game when it comes to worming his way back into Suri’s life. Paying for college is just one step in his goal.
“Tom paying for Suri’s tuition wasn’t just about him fulfilling his duties as an absent father,” an insider dished. “It’s part of a long-term plan that he hopes will allow him to ingratiate himself back into her life, so they can connect as adults and have a frank talk about everything – and that includes family and religion.”
“They will certainly have a lot of catching up to do, and Tom believes it’s all about the right timing. He’s been very patient and feels that he can wait a few more years if it means he is able to get back into his daughter’s life,” the source added.
After Tom and Katie’s divorce, the actress was granted sole custody of Suri. Katie reportedly didn’t want Tom’s controversial Scientology beliefs to be part of her daughter’s life. Now that Suri’s grown and in college, Holmes is allegedly not opposed to her daughter reconnecting with her father.
So far, there has been no public evidence to suggest that Suri Cruise would want to reconnect with Tom Cruise. However, if Katie Holmes is cool with it, then a Tom and Suri reunion could be a possibility in the future.
